Housed within the new Plaza Building, the Herbert-Herman Cancer Center will be built upon the principles of Patient- and family-centered care. Sparrow is committed to offering timely and convenient access to radiation, medical and surgical oncologists and a full range of clinical and family support services. The facility and programs are being designed with team medicine and Patient- and family engagement in mind.

A New Cancer Center – a commitment to our community
A new level in Patient care
The new four-story Plaza Building, located centrally on the Sparrow Campus, will house an expanded Cancer Center and other ancillary services to streamline Patient care. Designed with the future in mind, this flexible space can easily be adapted to next-generation technologies as they emerge.
A central courtyard in front of the Plaza Building will add green space along Michigan Avenue and provide a place for our Patients, visitors and Caregivers to rest and revitalize.
Adjacent to the Plaza Building, a new multi-level parking structure will add approximately 600 new parking spaces, providing greater accessibility for visitors. A dedicated second floor entrance with reserved parking for Cancer Center Patients, is just one of the many steps we’re taking to create a Patient-centered, healing environment. At Sparrow, the needs of the Patient must always come first, every step of the way.
